The new Audi S1 |
More sporting range will be the next in marketed. This will happen soon, but we already have long been known all their details and now we can see it in real images with more detail. The Audi S1 does not break molds in the aesthetic nor in the mechanical, that little book surprises, but aspires to become the main rival for the Mini Cooper S.
To began with its external appearance. At a glance would be very difficult distinguish it from an Audi A1 S line with any other engine, and this includes suspension reduced, rims of 17 inches (18 inches in option), wing rear bumper, sporting or exhaust chrome. The discretion, it will therefore be standard for the Audi S1 and details only very small will differentiate it from the S line standard, as perhaps the design of the rims.
As regards the mechanical part, there is no news especially striking. The base is the engine 1.4 IST 180 CV with double supercharger (compressor and turbo) together with the change of double clutch S-tronic 7 relations, a set already known by his cousins: Seat Ibiza Copra, Skoda Fabia RS and Volkswagen Polo GTI.
In spite of so much that is speculated for months, is confirmed that it will be front-drive, becoming the first Audi S not to become traction total Quattro.
Their benefits officers also did not yet available, but having regard to the performance of the small engine in the other models, it seems more than feasible speculate with an acceleration from 0 to 100 Km/h in a little less than 7 seconds and a maximum speed exceeding the 225 Km/h.
What is known journal is its base price: 28,360 Euros, nothing less? AND taking into account the little differentiation mechanics that there are other sport utility of VW group less noble, the difference in price seems too high (and this without resorting to the list of options). (more…)
